But wait -- we've gotten away from the core issue:

Re: [Avid-L2] Way OT: Adobe CS6 updater ???

The Avid L-2 is a bastion of all sorts of technical expertise.  Given Avid's abysmal Titler+, Pan and Zoom for Stills and lack of attention to the symphony coior corrector people are forced to use Adobe, Resolve, FCPX and other non Avid solutions in their Avid workflows.  I'd love to live in Avid and never use these other products but I have to.  All of these questions have relevance to the Avid L2 community and because we come from an Avid common ground L-2ers approach other software differently than those that have no Avid experience.  There is certainly not the volume of traffic there once was with many using Avid Editors on Facebook snd other resources but I've yet to find another comparable group with a better signal to noise ratio when it comes to sorting out technical problems.  There is also room for some irreverence.  You could say Bob Zelin beating some one up for not having a patch bay is not Avid related too but then he'd have to get his shot gun out.  ;-)

Since we are on the CS6 subject, if anyone around here has a CS6 they
don't use anymore I'd like to buy it. My 32 bit CS4 is really slooooow.

Thanks.

I suppose that you have tried the update in the help menu.
Maybe give Adobe a phone call.

Re: [Avid-L2] Way OT: Adobe CS6 updater ???

AE v11 has the greyed circle with the slash over it showing it being incompatible and when I go to launch it I get the message

---

You can't use this version of the application "Adobe After Effects CS6" with this version of macOS.

You have "Adobe After Effects CS6" 11.0.

I don't know why, but that's what it's telling me. I can copy over the v11.0.4 app from my TimeMachine back up and it will start up, but it throws a bunch of errors not being able to connect to some of the application support files that I'm guessing the CS6 updater would install.

works fine.

[Avid-L2] Way OT: Adobe CS6 updater ???

Due to unfortunate combinations of technology I had to do a clean instal of a system running on a Mac trashcan. It didn't want to restore from the TimeMachine backup. I think it's got something to do with the TimeMachine drive is Mac Extended while the boot drive on the workstation is APFS. Ugh.

Well, anyway, down to the real reason for the post. I'm reinstalling everything and I reinstall my copy of CS6 Production on there. When having to do this in the past all the updates were taken care of via Adobe Manager and then Creative Cloud scan the apps and saying 'hey, you need some updates, click here to run the updates'. So the big question is does anyone know where to acquire a CS6 updater or After Effects v11 > v11.0.4 updater(s)?

Thank you,

Re: [Avid-L2] Audio Weirdness MC 18.9

Are they marked as stereo or multichannel, and do you only have mono tracks in your timeline? That would indeed happen if that were the case.

If you Duplicate a clip (Cmd/Ctrl + D) you can have one set as Dual Mono and the other as Stereo. . . . I'm not sure of a use case for that — maybe testing — but it's possible.

Depending on how you bring in a clip, it can be multiple mono tracks, or various types of multi tracks (like stereo or 5.1, etc) that look like a single track.

You can only patch audio to a similarly formatted track in your timeline.  If one isn't available, the default settings allow it to auto create when you cut it in.

There are two solutions:

1) Re-ingest your clip with multiple mono audio tracks,

2) when cut into the timeline convert the track to multiple mono tracks.

Google or search help for more details.
