As discussed offline, I have no trouble using nvidia web drivers with 10.12.6 - macvidcards has a list of what drivers go with which build of OS X and how to figure out your build.  As I'm sure you've learned, mac is not supporting nVidia past 10.13.6.  (I'm having driver issues with high Sierra, but Sierra no problem.)


Also, I noticed resolve set itself to 'metal' on my last update - and I was getting sticky response and slow render times.  Once I set it back to Cuda, I was back in business with faster-than-real time rendering with typicaly 6-8 nodes and noise reduction.  Unrelated to your problem, but be sure to check that!

PRAM reset multiple times (like let it go 6 times before letting it boot up)
Had this problem going the other way (trying to get back to the OSX driver and abandon the Nvidia .web driver)
Worth a shot.

I have not had this problem, but wonder if it might be related to some other driver issues I've had in the past.  How old is that driver?  Because at a certain point the Mac OS started to insist that kext files be properly singed, blah blah blah, and old drives won't work.  I found this to deal with it.


I will very much recommend that you make a backup of your system, like with TimeMachine.  If possible swap out the boot drive and do a fresh install or swap out the boot drive and recover with a TimeMachine image before proceeding.  Always have a recovery/backup plan.

Use older drivers that aren't cleared for OS X


Lets show you how I did this:
1. Install the driver and check if it is working or not. If NOT continue;
2. Reboot your Mac into Recovery Mode by restarting your computer and holding down Command+R until the Apple logo appears on your screen;
3.. Click Utilities -> Terminal;
4. In the Terminal window, type in csrutil disable and press Enter;
5. Type again csrutil enable --without kext;
6. Restart your Mac.
In my case, after computer restart my oldie ATTO Celerity FC-42ES worked fine.
I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend fully disable the SIP and recommend to use --without key.
Also, BE CAREFUL with driver installation from an unconfirmed sources.

I don't think this could ever be done. You might achieve what you want be tracking in Paint, though.

A few days ago I needed to blur a bit of text in a shot.  There was
movement in the shot, including a size change.  I added a Paint Effect,
blurred the necessary area and then went to promote the effect to 3D so
I could corner pin my Paint object.  No Promote button.

It wasn't a big deal.  I did the blur in AfterEffects.  But, am I
imagining that one used to be able to promote this sort of stuff to
