Re: [Avid-L2] Still image import Crash

Thanks Mark,
I tried this as well, along with creating new files per the specs below.

I'm thinking of doing fresh install, since I'm having other abnormal issues
such at Titles not saving, and JPEG's not exporting.

Marcel is correct, but it may be slightly more involved perhaps than what you have already troubleshot:

If the image is in a path with any special characters (other than alphanumeric), this can be problematic to import or linking operations. Easiest thing to try is to copy the image to your desktop, rename it image.psd, and try again. If it works, then something in the file path is not alphanumeric.

Otherwise, MC has been known not to be happy with images that are not RGB (8 or 16-bits), and also make sure it is 72dpi. Weird things can happen if those rules aren't followed.

I have 2018.12.10 on Mojave and linking a PSD with layers comes in as a flattened image. Importing allows me to choose the layer to be imported or import as a sequence of layers, as expected.

Re: [Avid-L2] External boot drive and 2020.12 issues

Ok - the OS version was the issue.  Update external boot drive to 10.14.6 and the problem is solved.  Hope this helps someone.

[Avid-L2] Still image import Crash

Looking for guidance while experiencing a weird import behavior all of the sudden - MC 2018.12.11 on OS Mojave 10.14.6.

Whenever I try to SB > Import or drag and drop a JPG or layered Photoshop file, I get the error "Module exited unexpectedly."
I tried the usual route of rebooting/restarting, trashing MC State, creating a new user and new project, but it still crashes.

They're probably not connected, but Audio files still drag and drop correctly.

I can SB> Link to files, which is fine for JPGs, but as far as I've found, that flattens layered PSD files, unless there's a setting I've missed.

Any suggestions ?

thanks,

rob
