FWIW: I worked extensively with audiomixdowns in MC6 last week and have had no problems whatsoever, source audio was imported CD/wav/aiff (no mp3), captured tape, transcoded AMA linked clips, I was mixing several mono tracks to a single mono track(s); do You happen to have this issue with stereo audiomixdowns? Happy new year, Luca

[Avid-L2] Composer 5.5 security vulnerability
Update your antivirals folks
AVID Media Composer Phonetic Indexer Stack Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution
December 30, 2011
A remote stack buffer overflow vulnerability is present in some versions of Avid Media Composer. The flaw lies in a network daemon that ships with Avid Media Composer 5.5, named AvidPhoneticIndexer.exe. Successful exploitation could result in execution of arbitrary code in the compromised system.

Tony, I can send you the medicopy download, but you still need Wes to reset your registration. I believe he is monitoring the forum. As far as the free version, he said there are some issues to sort out before it will be available for download.

[Avid-L2] Re: Archiving DV25 411 tapes
Thanks for the quick replies (and perhaps more than I have seen since I only
get the digest). I unchecked the "Use Avid Codecs" option for export; it made
no difference (the interlacing artifacts were still there). I played the
original Digi8 tape (s-video to a 17 inch monitor) and did not see any
interlacing problems with the original. David.

material. Hard drives are way more fragile than tape. They can go bad
just sitting on a shelf.
I would dub them to Digibeta or something, if you want a more durable
format.

Re: [Avid-L2] Archiving DV25 411 tapes
Hi Roger,
Being from 'PAL-land', I know a little about the foibles of DV PAL. What I
was questioning was Bouke's suggestion that the Avid DV codec switches
field order on NTSC DV. That would make no sense to me, but I don't recall
ever being in a position to find out for myself.
