AVID Media Composer Phonetic Indexer Stack Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution

A remote stack buffer overflow vulnerability is present in some versions of Avid Media Composer. The flaw lies in a network daemon that ships with Avid Media Composer 5.5, named AvidPhoneticIndexer.exe. Successful exploitation could result in execution of arbitrary code in the compromised system.
