[Avid-L2] Re: Can I convert a LanShare LP Server into a XT MediaArray?

Don't think so- Single proc versus dual proc. Check the CPU specs.

Re: [Avid-L2] side by side, stereoscopic, quicktime player/viewer

Hi Jay,

If you have the files in CineForm HD/4K/3D quicktime format, you may able to view them in GoPro Cineform studio. I have not tested it with files not made from GoPro units. You can download a free version from the Go Pro site.

Best Wishes,

Paul Sulsky

Oh, I forgot to add. It would be very preferred that it be Mac based. We did find Stereoscopic Player from 3dtv.at, but alas, it's Windows only, and the camera department does not have a windows system on hand.

Thank you again,
Jay

You have to make a session and then a playlist and then save the playlist and then quit the session and then load the saved playlist, etc.

I just checked the Avid qualified system requirements and from what I see 10.6.7 is not qualified at this time according to this link:
http://www.avid.com/US/products/Media-Composer/system-requirements
Perhaps that is contributing to your issue?

Re: [Avid-L2] AMA frustrations

By any chance are you attempting this is project type other than the native resolution and frame rate of the linked media?

I would recommend always transcoding into the best native resolution available and letting Composer do the rest via motion adapters when you move your bins into alternative project types.

[Avid-L2] Can I convert a LanShare LP Server into a XT MediaArray?

Hi. Was wondering if if I can switch my LanShare LP Server, into dumb storage, attached to my 5.1.3 MediaEngine? So, basically make it into dumb storage with 5.1.3 IBOD service.

Thanks,

RE: [Avid-L2] Re: AMA files... ATTENTION FRANK!

Seriously guys, should they peel you a grape, too?

A prompt to the list of links to the plug-ins is pretty fast; except for
Sony, who seems to want your personal biography and possession of your
fist-born child, the links get you right to the current source PDQ. They
would grow as stale as a peach in the back corner of you refrigerator in a
few months if included as-is with the install media, and then the complaint
would be about "...all of those stale plug-ins; why not just links to the
fresh ones..." We all rightly expect that what we get with a new purchase
or upgrade is at least current, and there is no way for Avid to control the
freshness of the manufacturers' releases.

Of course, the prompt to get them and an accompanying notice should appear
during the install, but otherwise, I find the current scheme rather
reasonable.

Agreed - current plugins need to be in a folder on the installation media
with a prompt during the installation to install them (I don't mind them not
going in automatically).
