Re: [Avid-L2] Can't link to Avid exported Tiff Sequence?

Thanks for the info.  I'm surprised I never ran across this before.

Re: [Avid-L2] Can't link to Avid exported Tiff Sequence?

You can't link to TIFF until v.2019.8. You can only import Targa and TIFF.

What's New Avid Media Composer 2019.8 con't

Support for TIFF files in Live Link

This release supports using Live Link with TIFF files. For details on using Live Link, see "QuickTime Workflow Using QuickTime Live Link" in the Help. TIFF files are linked using the Avid Generic Plug-in.

I can export a DPX sequence labeling it as 23.976 from a 29.97 project then go to my 23.976 project and link to the dpx sequence and get a frame for frame transcode.  Yes it plays slower but that can be more acceptable than the motion adapters etc...  I then tried the same exporting a Targa and a Tiff sequence from Avid.  When I tried to link to the Avid exported targa sequence the source browser said in could not be linked.  When I did the same with tiff and highlighted the folder containing the tiff sequence it brought each frame in individually.  Is there no option to auto detect sequential file sequences like there is when doing a classic import?  The DPX route works but I thought I could save some space doing a tiff or targa sequence.  I'm on Mac Pro mid 2012 MC 2018.12.15.  I have always been able to link back to my DPX exports so why not a tiff or targa sequence?  What am I missing?

[Avid-L2] Should QTchange do MXF as well?

Just asking. I think I can add 'some' functionality, but it will be, well, 'work'…
Oh, for those behind, QTchange is no longer dependent on the QT framework (that died with 64 bits OS), and it now does Mp4, BRAW, CRM, Cinema DNG and ArriRaw (.arx / .ari)

I want to add support for MXF.
Mind you, I'm talking changing metadata WITHOUT transcode or copy, so it will be lightning fast / won't require additional storage.

Then, what to change? I can do in-file TC / Reel / Filename (bin name) changing, but I can also add a gazzilion amount of metadata over XMP (if you are a Premiere user, or use something else that understands XMP.)
