[Avid-L2] Can Avid Link Blast a Dongle?

Running 2018.12.1 on mac so I have Avid Link.  I found a folder that had app manager next to the folder for Avid link.  I figured that must mean app manager can still be run but when I click on the app manager app Avid Link opens up.  This is when Avid Link is already running.  I wanted to run app manager to be able to blast a dongle but I can't and I haven't found a means to blast in Avid Link.  I can see dongle info but I don't see anything but activate which doesn't seem to lead me to a place where I can choose Update instead of convert like App Manager does.

Am I missing dongle blasting as a feature in Avid Link?  is there some lurking dongle manager software I need to find.  At work I've been able to go to older systems still running app manager and blast using the downloaded dongle file and that works.  I can't believe Avid Link wouldn't support blasting a dongle so I'm hoping I'm just no looking in the right place.

Any insight appreciated.

With 4.5 stars in iTunes, the Yahoo Mail app is the highest rated email app on the market. What are you waiting for? Now you can access all your inboxes (Gmail, Outlook, AOL and more) in one place. Never delete an email again with 1000GB of free cloud storage.

[Avid-L2] Re: Avid Link using 170% CPU?

Okay I installed 2019.3 and it starts using 180% CPU then drops to about 66%.  I signed in and out and back in and I see my products but none of the other tab show anything.  They use to.  I haven't restarted my computer but I would think quiting Avid Link and restarting it and resigning in would refresh everything.  My internet at home is slow but it did sign me in and would launch to my.avid account so I don't know why I'm not seeing anything ont other tabs like Profile, Home, Marketplace etc...

You should have a new Avid Link 2019.3 released yesterday.  2 changes to assist the masses.

Performance Improvement: We have modified the behavior of 3 tabs when Avid Link is now launched. This modification, reduces the QT Web instances that are started when Avid Link is first launched. The following tabs will not "pre-load" when Avid Link is opened:  Create Account, Forgot Password and Redeem. If users need those tabs, they can be manually opened from within Avid Link.
Now it wont chew up as much as it did prior.

- Dongle Backward Compatibility:  An update has been made to help support future Media Composer software with Dongle backward compatibility.

Give 2019.3 a try and report back please that it doesnt suck up as much as the prior versions did.

Re: [Avid-L2] Avid Link using 170% CPU?

Actually the 12 Cores have two threads, I hope that is correct nomenclature, so there are 24 virtual cores.  This means there is the potential of 2,400% CPU Usage.  I often see transcode server or media composer run around 2,000% and more when transcoding and sometimes rendering.

It is confusing and non intuitive at first but then compared to Titler+ it's a simple concept as is herding cats, ending world hunger and an end to climate change.  All are easier the Titler+.  ;-)

I really don't know, and I'm probably repeating something that was made up by someone who doesn't know either, but I thought it was something like; if you have a 6-core system you have the potential of 600%.  So on a 12-core system that has a potential of 1200% if the CPU usage is 170% then they are using about 14% of the systems potential CPU.  ??  Maybe??

What's Avid link doing to use that much CPU?
