Yes I have not dealt with credits in years. But here we go.. Several docs in the works and one ready to lay down credit roll. The producer made a fancy word doc wth underlines, sections of two columns etc. I don't have word on my Avid MC 8.9.4. If I bring over a text doc it looses formatting (Mac here ). So what are the workarounds lately for Credit rolls. I don't want to do it in AE if I don't have to as it never seems crisp enough and have to re-render everytime we change duration. What are you guys who do credits doing and is it easiest for me to install word on the Avid?ThanksLou

afaik, LE and PE had to do with licences for codecs (MpegII)
Now, MpegII patents have lapsed since the beginning of this year. Not that it matters, as Meridien codecs are Mjpeg. It does not matter if they are installed or not, as the install was for Quicktime that Adobe does not use anymore. And since it's old technology from a competitor I very much doubt they will make even the slightest effort to support it.But, again, FFmpeg does. And it's just SD, so a transcode should be lightning fast.(Perhaps Lanczos upscale with custom cropping the VBI / overscan while you're at it.)On 27 Jun 2018, at 03:23, bigfish@pacbell.net [Avid-L2] <Avid-L2@yahoogroups.com> wrote:I recall having some issues with Resolve not liking anything but 1:1 from SD land. This was a while ago.Aren't the codecs automatically installed when Avid is installed. I know you can download the free version of Avid Codecs, I forget if that is the PE or LE version or is that no longer the appropriate terminology? I've definitely used SD 35:1 and 20:1 for video references in my sequences. I use them all the time to save space even if they come to me at DNX36 I usually transcode to 35:1 or 20:1 when I bring them into my Avid online project. This still works but I guess the latest Adobe wouldn't like those files.the Meridian codecs were only for QT 7 I thought. Has anyone pulled them forward into a modern OS?
