Re: [Avid-L2] MC/Big Sur Qualification

I just bought a new iMac with Catalina. Can't use any older OS because of the T2 chip. I wish I was still running Mojave.

Clearly you don't understand all of Avid's technical resources are tied up trying to make Titler+ usable.  How could they spare the resources to qualify a new OS?  ;-)

Re: [Avid-L2] Best Collaboration/Review/Notes Tool for MC?

I cut on an iMac with an added 27" Apple monitor. I don't use my laptop for cutting. Although it's relatively new and ready to be added into the workflow, if required.

In zoom you choose 720 and 'original audio,' or something like that.  Not great, but pretty good all things considered.

What's super cool about this setup is you can actually watch the rest of the creative time watching your cut - something that was kind of creepy before - you can literally watch their face.  I switch off the camera on my iphone in the session, so they kind of forget that I'm watching, too.  Especially if you know that collaborator well, you can see right away what's working for them, and what's not.  It's a unique experience.

There's a professional version of this, of course… can't remember what it's called… but the price made it cost prohibitive for my most recent collaborative project.

What is the connection from Avid to the capture device.  Are you hanging an I/O box off your laptop for input?  If you use NDI would that bypass a capture device?
