Re: [Avid-L2] Re: EBU R128 as plugin?

Again, LevelNorm is precisely made for use in Avid. Create a stereo mixdown of your sequence, apply LevelNorm, render, done.

[Avid-L2] Re: EBU R128 as plugin?

I gave been hoping for nearly a year to get Loudness monitoring in The avid. I have been obliged to stop using avids for diff after stations refused my betas. This was particularly compounded with the audio centralized pan setting.

Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Bins won't open... Avid crashes

We aren't having that exact problem but yeah we've definitely ran into AMA
problems. We ended up laying off all of our AMA clips (before transcode)
to XD with the U1/U2 and digitizing them back in at 15:1 with the F1600's.
We are having to overcut everything that the editors give us. They haven't
been using that many of the AMA clips, but we were definitely screwed on
our first Uprez.

The after transcode, the AMA clips actually had minutes cut off from them,
but only in the video. But the amount of video that was missing from each
clip would be random for every transcode that you would do... weird shit.

Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Bins won't open... Avid crashes

Also suggest being very careful if you are running 6 on unity and using AMA
to transcode material. There is an unfixed bug where the transcoded
material will having missing frames, the clip will play until it gets
within 10 or so frames, then an error message pops up. They thought they
had this fixed and I am not sure if it is now, but I had to re-transcode a
lot of material after moving over to an ISIS where the problem did not
exist. "core consistency check failure"

Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Bins won't open... Avid crashes

It's definitely not the bins being locked. That's an easy fix. We did
some research and it seems like our loggers have been working out of a
project that was created in MC 5.0.4. And every bay that was affected has
been used by the loggers... Will try to recreate the project in MC6 and see
if that fixes things... Thanks for the suggestions though.

Just heard back from Sony Engineering and they told me the 5500 does not pass closed captioning through the downconvert. I was told it might pass through the FC option card but that's for format/frame rate convert function and doesn't do a down convert. I guess Everts and others must make a box that would take the HANC CC data and convert it to SD CC on line 21. What are people using to take an HD tape and downconvert maintaining the Closed Captioning is SD?

[Avid-L2] Re: Will Sony SRW-5500 add CC 608 on downconvert?

Just heard back from Sony Engineering and they told me the 5500 does not pass closed captioning through the downconvert. I was told it might pass through the FC option card but that's for format/frame rate convert function and doesn't do a down convert. I guess Everts and others must make a box that would take the HANC CC data and convert it to SD CC on line 21. What are people using to take an HD tape and downconvert maintaining the Closed Captioning is SD?

If you're looking for a color accurate grading monitor, did you give the Flanders 2461 any consideration?

[Avid-L2] Artist Color Panel communications with Resolve?

Artist Color Panel communications with Resolve?
I have successfully hooked up my Artist Color Panel to my SNDX 6.0.1.1 and also SNsoft 6.0.1.1 on my MBP.  It is hooked to a switch and I can access the color panel from either computer using the EuCon controls.  I loaded the latest Resolve Lite Beta 8.2 ish on the SNDX.  I had previously installed Resolve Lite on my MBP and had it working at home.  When I have panel control on the SNDX it works for symphony but when I try and run the Resolve Lite Beta it doesn't seem to connect correctly to the panel.  The EuCon software indicates that BlackMagic Resolve is active but the soft key labels stay at empty box outlines.  If I grab panel control on the MBP and run Resolve Lite the Artist Color Panel displays the resolve softkey button labels like lift etc... and they work.  I've since downloaded the non beta Resolve Lite but haven't had a chance to test it.  Other than seeing the EuCon software indicating Resolve is the application active what else
can I do to trouble shoot the lack of connection on the SNDX MacPro?  EuCon software 2.6.2 and latest firmware update on the panel.
