This doesn't make a whole lot of sense. For this to happen Avid would have to had changed the project format for a trial license because the application wouldn't be able to retroactively go back and change all the project files so that a fully licensed MC would not be able to open the projects.
I'm pretty sure that we don't have different project formats but I'll poke around on Monday and see if I can find anything out.
