Re: [Avid-L2] Canon C300 AMA?

No. It was the damn folder level. I had everything AMA'd in within 10 seconds of posting.

Let my stupidity be a lesson to you all: CHECK THE FOLDER LEVEL FIRST. Each camera manufacturer has a different "level" of folder above the raw clips that are the actual "essence" of the media. This is usually only an issue if you transfer the media from the card to another drive (like most people do). Usually you want to point at the card itself to do the import, so if you move the media to another drive, you should put the main folder INTO ANOTHER FOLDER. Then point to that level. (as a general rule of thumb).

I think you also need the MXF plug-in installed along with the Canon plug... but isn't that installed by the MC Installer?

Worth checking.

I'll keep trying if there's hope.

I switched from MC6.5 to MC7 and I can't seem to find an AMA plugin for C300 for it.

Tried the Canon site, of course. Seems like there are plugins for the XF300 family.

Thoughts? Use some other software to do the transfer?

[Avid-L2] Bug? No Audio data on track 24?

Just noticed that on my Mac Symph 7.0.3 the data display on track 24
doesn't seem to be working on my system.
Turned on audio for all tracks. Moved audio between 24 and another track
where it displayed, and then back again 24 where it didn't.
Can anyone confirm that it is a bug?

Re: [Avid-L2] AVID FREEZES

Hi,

Sorry if someone already mentioned this.  You could create a new project and import the bins from the old project. See if the new project crashes opening up.

Best Wishes,

Paul

And if you open a bin from the Attic, COPY it somewhere first (out of the Attic), just in case you corrupt that one, too.

Another thing to try - and I can't remember the exact keystrokes, but you can google it - is that you can launch a formerly open Avid project with all of the bins that had been opened CLOSED. The problem is probably not Media Composer, but possibly a corrupt bin or sequence. So if you can launch your project with all the bins closed, then you'd at least have an open project.

Another faster thing would be to NOT open that project at all. Open a NEW project and then attempt to open a bin from the Attic from the "corrupt" project into that new project. Keep going back to older and older versions of the bin that has the sequence in it until you find one that will open.

When I open freezes on sequence it goes through settings and then all the bin windows sit there white. Thank You

To open an existing project with all bins and tools closed, hold down Option/Alt as you select the project.
