And if you open a bin from the Attic, COPY it somewhere first (out of the Attic), just in case you corrupt that one, too.
Another thing to try - and I can't remember the exact keystrokes, but you can google it - is that you can launch a formerly open Avid project with all of the bins that had been opened CLOSED. The problem is probably not Media Composer, but possibly a corrupt bin or sequence. So if you can launch your project with all the bins closed, then you'd at least have an open project.
Another faster thing would be to NOT open that project at all. Open a NEW project and then attempt to open a bin from the Attic from the "corrupt" project into that new project. Keep going back to older and older versions of the bin that has the sequence in it until you find one that will open.SteveOn Jan 18, 2014, at 5:18 AM, Roger Shufflebottom <rogershuff@yahoo.co.uk> wrote:More details would be helpful. Version? PC? Mac? Any hardware attached? Have you tried creating a new project with a new user profile and see if it launches? Try trashing the MCState foe (Media Composer folder>Settings folder.

When I try to open Media Composer it gets as far as loading Sequence and Freezes. This happens on old sequences from Avid Projects any thing. I tried reinstalling same thing. But I get a error 1308 can not find files on some of the avid files I hit ignor and it keeps loading. When I open freezes on sequence it goes through settings and then all the bin windows sit there white. Thank You
