yes. my comment was on the absurdity of the "process" to export and import a sequence. that is my point. it is insane. It's 2015.

My guess is that his point is less about the quality of your tutorial, which is very thorough, and more about the ridiculousness that this lengthy and complicated process is necessary to get a clean roundtrip for ANY software combination. It should be much easier. Not to say that it CAN be much easier, but it SHOULD be.

Owen,

Thank you so much for checking out the tutorial on using Avid tapeless sources with Resolve and back to Avid and I appreciate you getting back to me. I was hoping it was useful information that I was presenting and am curious if you could elaborate? I love to learn and I appreciate your time.

thank you

It's for when you want the clip name italicized.

This tutorial has a special step (25) where before a relink, clean the bin memory. I discovered from testing and retesting that when relinking a sequence to master clips, that clearing the bin memory before using the relink command can make the difference from a relink working or not. Clear Bin Memory is exactly like quitting the Avid and then relaunching holding down a key to make all of the bins closed upon opening the Avid. So this step alone is a time savor and can sometimes make the critical difference from the Avid Media Composer performing the relink command or not. I would love to know if this is helpful information?

Re: [Avid-L2] pan and zoom

As I think about it, I'm pretty sure that 8K x 8K image size restriction was for Moving Pictures anyway, not Avid's pan & zoom.

I think there is a size limit... something around 8000 x 8000 pixels.  Are your images bigger than that by any chance?

What is the trick to making Pan and Zoom see the picture? Im cutting at another house and I only have Pan and Zoom to work with. As a die hard Moving Picture user I never ever ever use Pan and Zoom. But its all I have. So I drop effect on the clip, select display source, go to import image and find original and select. But all stays black. Is it limited to file formats? File sizes? File names? I changed from tiff to jpeg but no difference.
WTH???

thanks
