Re: [Avid-L2] Export to XDCAM, all Avid tracks to Ch1 and Ch2?
We do immersive with a mix of timeline tracks routed to 16 channels but, to deliver a file, have to do a multi-mixdown and export the resulting sequence as direct out. (Oftentimes it's quicker to play out to EVS, plus we get to QC the segment.)
There is a FR for exports 'as monitored' that I heard was on the Avid radar....

realize you used the Audio Tool to map channels for Direct Out.
This sounds promising. I won't get back to the edit bay until
next week, but will check that out and report back.
Great news.

Re: [Avid-L2] Export to XDCAM, all Avid tracks to Ch1 and Ch2?
Hi John,
Yes, we can do that and it works. The edit is no problem
exporting to XDCam.
The main thing for me is a time-crunch. We are a very small
outfit, and our main sponsor, without whom we'd be sunk,
sometimes gives us a new ad the morning of the day we have to
deliver and expects it to be put in. With this guy we have to do
what he says, or else. That type. Handling him is Management's
problem. Mine is that 3 or 4 times a year we get backed into a
corner where every minute counts, we're making 13 exports and
barely making delivery on time.
So if indeed, the audio 'routing' won't work, I'll have to do as
you suggest, and just race that clock!

Re: [Avid-L2] Export to XDCAM, all Avid tracks to Ch1 and Ch2?
Thanks for emailing. But I see that I didn't explain well enough.
We have a 30 minute program Master, all audio mixed down to A1/A2
for export to 13 discs for 13 stations.
But now we have to drop in last-minute 20 second audio
announcements on A3/A4, where there is only background music on
A1/A2. Unique announcement for each station.
Without doing 13 audio mixdowns again, I need to export A1-A4
onto only A1/A2 of the disc. Is that possible?
All the settings I've tried so far leave me with audio on Ch1, 2,
3 and 4 of the disc, but the stations require all audio to be
limited to Ch1 & Ch2.

[Avid-L2] Export to XDCAM, all Avid tracks to Ch1 and Ch2?
Up until now, we deliver on XDCAM, and the stations want all audio on
Ch1(L) and Ch2(R). We mix down the final audio to one stereo track in
Avid and the export works fine.
Now we need to export two stereo audio tracks from Avid, but 'rout' them
to only Ch1 and Ch2 on the XDCAM disk. But we're ending up with 4 tracks
of audio on the disk. Is there any way to get all of Avid's (L) audio
and (R) to just Ch1 & 2 on the disk?
Hope I'm explaining it well -- any help appreciated!
