Re: [Avid-L2] When in Heaven's name is Catalina getting blessed for Media Composer??

There's been many discussions here about that gamma shift and the usual workaround is SAS. I prefer OP1a. It's fast, clean and everybody like it.

I may be missing something in workflow but the occasional gamma shift on output has been maddening.

Sounds like it needs some unpicking as to why and where that gamma shift is happening.
It's a pretty std workflow using SAS that normally doesn't generate shifts.

Never had any issues with SaS. I always render before I export. My render settings are at 16bit and at the top resolution I use in the timeline. Maybe I was just lucky.

I hoping Marianna or an engineer might offer some clue as to when MC (and not the much appreciated but hobbled beta) would run on Catalina as we're working from home on our mid 2013's instead of our 2020 macbook pro 16's which are running Premier Pro just fine but some of us would prefer to use the awesome MC Ultimate; and for a ridiculous reason the thread was highjacked and criticized for using the phrase "stay safe," which is the ubiquitous friendly sign off for everyone here in the tri state region and because of that has turned into a pile of crap. So, Marianna or an engineer, when in pete's sake are we getting an update? Catalina was rekeased Oct 7th 2019. Now please don't tell me to get a PC, I've already purchased Macs, I have no PCs and I'm not gonna run out and buy PC's and also please don't tell me that I'm a privileged to have this first world problem; I'm aware and I know Avid employees are working from home too, yet, this is a professional list and that means people on here are trying to make a living using Avid software and hardware and of course I realize and empathize with the pain and grief caused by this current virus, still I think that my question, however I couched it, is not OT, thank you.

Not all the components of the Software works in 64 bit. There is also a lot more security in Catalina as people have found out trying to screen share and do office meetings.    I use teamviewer at Paramount.

April twenty-something, according to a post a few days ago from David C of Avid on the "Avid Editors of Facebook"

I think it was the 23 or 28.

Things are progressing on the beta development but as I'm sure your aware those helping can't share that progress.
But I can say many of those helping have had their time hijacked by the current circumstances.
I think the current line is still April.
