[Avid-L2] OT: Bill Maher on HBO in TV Logic not Dolby Digital?

On my home system with Direct TV feeding HD to my Onkyo Audio Receiver Bill Maher is flagged as TV Logic not Dolby Digital.  I think TV Logic is Onkyo's version of Pro Logic.  Everything else on HBO is Dolby Digital and I'm pretty sure Bill Maher usually is based on how low the sub woofer output is coming from the TV logic output.  Usually I get much more Sub Woofer on HBO ID and opening music.  I've tried my recorded show and the rebroadcast airing live and they both appear to be TV Logic according to my Onkyo Audio Receiver.  Any TV City folks out there?  That's where the show originates.

All 48.

Ugh.

Still doesn't work :-(

I ended up taking into Premiere to sync.

You should transcode everything into your project rate, you need both clips to be at the project frame rate for Waveform Sync to work.

Synching by hand will be impossible unless you at least transcode the AVCHD audio, because AVCHD media won't show waveforms.

Further, unless you shot in all I-frame, you'll be much happier editing with transcoded media.  Working with linked long GOP media is frustratingly slow because it takes a long time to compute any single frame, 'cause to display one frame you need to first generate some number of frames that precede it.

I will investigate, never considered that!

Re: [Avid-L2] Audio Sync MC 2018.9

Audio was not from a recorder, line went into the cam.
Is it possible to record two diff frame rates,
one vid and one audio on same camera?

Lat time I saw this, the 'frame rate' of the audio didn't match the video. Maybe try a different project?

No TC sync, two different cams,
one recording AVCHD and one H264.

Thoughts…?
