[Avid-L2] Re: AMA Linking to Sony EX3 files

It had been suggested to me in the past that sometimes opening the clips with the Sony software actually fixes the folder structure. I know I was having problems with some test footage but after installing the Sony software and opening the clips with it they started to work in Avid using ama iirc.

[Avid-L2] MC 5.5 last 32 bit Avid!

I have been given the greenlight to spread the word that 5.5 is the last 32 bit Avid version will release. You can do the simple assumption to know what that means for the next version. So, bear that in mind with any hardware purchases you plan this year.

Re: [Avid-L2] New laptop

I love my new 17" MBP -
even with a hard drive, not an SSD, it boots up in about 30 seconds -
a huge improvement over my older 15" MBP.

MC 5.5 runs 1:1 footage beautifully with an internal, build to order 7200 rpm drive.

Re: [Avid-L2] ProxyMill for Avid offline...

FWIW the GoPro had a firmware update about six-months ago to support 25fps.
I believe it works on all existing GoPro HDs at least (and I wouldn't use
the non-HD models, the framesize they record is useless!)
