Well don't forget that following the merger of newscorp and the U.K. government murdoch does own the bbc as well.

Hey David-- Wikipedia to the rescue. Scroll way down to the bottom of the article, there's a pie chart that clarifies the mystery, looks like we are both correct, sort of.
#1- BBC 1#2- ITV 1#3- BBC 2#4- ITV 2... Etc (details on pie chart with specific share percentages).I didn't realize that the Beeb was/is still as strong as it is, thinking the commercial channels were giving it a much stronger run for the money. I've been drinking too much Murdoch kool aid.
