I feel your pain.
This poorly conceived tool has been around long enough to not have these problems.
And the experience has been quite far from "smooth sailing" since the day it was introduced.
For the record, my Windows-based App Manager is indicating the latest version as being 8.5.1.41150.
One possible suggestion:
If you happen to be dongle-based, I would remove and re-insert the dongle while the App Manager is running. There is an outside chance that might make the "Install" option appear in the App Manager. It might not happen immediately -- so give it a chance to change. If not, maybe try a different combination of Dongle re-seating and App Manager re-starting.
I have no experience if you are not dongle-based. But you might try the equivalent if it makes sense.
Good luck.

I wish your method worked for me. I've beeb starting and restarting, closing and opening like a crazy person, and I still don't seem to get access to the update.
This may seem like a silly question, but is the update actually called 8.5.1, or could it also be 8.5.0.41070? Because 8.5.0.41070 is what mine says in AppMan. But because I'm suspicious of all things AppMan I'm wondering if 8.5.0.41070 is not, in fact, AppMan Speak for 8.5.1.

Meanwhile, my USB dongle is mounted on the computer -- and the very same App Manger is indicating that I have perpetual support.
I have determined that situation can be resolved by successively opening and closing the App Manager in order to force it to accept that the update can be applied.
Does this really have to be this hard?
