What can I say. I do try new users with my bizarro issues and they are still there. Again I don't advocate it but it is my truth. Perhaps OKI Dogs have something to do with it???

My dirty little secret is I never rebuild my settings and in 15 years on Avid I've only been bitten once. That had to do with grid settings for safe title etc... IIRC from Ver 5.5 to 6 the grid turned black and I could not make it white. Importing the grid setting from a new user in 6 to my grid settings alleviated the issue for me. Now I'm not advocating my user setting lazyness but it's just the on the edge kinda guy I am.
Joking aside you can bring in things like keyboard layouts into a new user to save some work. If you do it one aspect at a time you can find out where the issue is cropping up.
