295 sounds cheap, but it also can get you half a mile of audio cable.
I don't see the logic in de-embedders for studio setups if audio outputs are also available on your box.
less hardware is less trouble, less energy consumption, less heat, less worries about sync.
(And probably less installation costs. Don't forget that on a de-embedder you still need connectors, so you end up with more connectors than running some audio cables...)

OK, I have to correct myself here. 295 gets you a BMD box that extracts 8ch of AES. I had no idea that prices for solutions like that had dropped so much.So, why even bother with 4 analog audio outs?
