I find Baselight MORE user friendly than Resolve for most people. unless you have node based editing experience from another app. Baselight uses layers instead of nodes. I personally like Resolve but I don't agree that it's more user friendly

If Avid can provide a plugin for in-app grading (Fusion, Baselight), then works on conforming/roundtripping compatibility with another party, everyone can be catered for. Why would they work with BMD to compete with a similar solution they already have with FilmLight?

Because Baselight is nowhere near as user friendly as Resolve and the exchanger will hopefully place your entire timeline in resolve for grading rather than makign you work a shot at a time in the AVX plugin.
