[Avid-L2] Re: Most popular editing software

I think the 80% finishing on FCP had a lot to do with Alphadogs early adoption of FCP finishing and less to do with the ratio of FCP reality to Avid reality editing.  I've been at some large post facilities freelancing and pre FCPX they were having a hard time finding online editors that knew FCP 7,6 etc...  In some cases I was told the "staff" editors weren't interested in learning FCP7.

We do a lot of finishing for reality shows. Back when we started it was 100 percent Avid. We got into FCP finishing ahead of most of the other post houses in town. By 2010 easily 80 percent of our finishing work was on FCP originated projects.
Then came FCPX.
Now 80 percent is Avid again. We still get a lot of indie features and docs that are FCP 7. Only a few FCPX projects so far.
And one Premiere project.
Not sure what this tells you about anything.
