In the case of Resolve Free you're the product because you're being turned
into a product evangelist and promoter. If you download Resolve Free and
use it for a few small jobs then when someone comes to you with a bigger
job that calls for more power you'll immediately suggest a full Resolve
suite.

When someone asks you about colour grading software you'll immediately
mention Resolve.

I know this because I've done EXACTLY this.

If you want to run Resolve you'll have to, at the very least, buy a
Blackmagic video I/O card.

Free and Lite and low-cost products are about the best marketing you can
get really. No matter how good your website and product videos are, nothing
beats the ability to actually try the software. Even Avid's fully
functional trial works pretty well for this.
