I know Lion is suggested but I've been okay running 10.6.8 with my MBP 17inch and the need for Rosetta to access Avid Connection Manager and Fibre Manager are needed in this case. At least it is my understanding that connection manager 5.2 runs through Rosetta and if I went to Lion 10.7.x I would lose Rosetta and thereby be incapable of accessing our media net Unity. Can someone confirm or deny this?
MediaNetwork Ethernet attached clients will definitely not work Under Lion. I don't believe Ethernet attached clients will run with version 6.x under 10.6.8 either. Something is missing in the editing software as well. I'm not completely certain on this as it's been nearly a year since I tried and my memory is starting to go.
You can test this from your MacBook Pro to see if it works. In the past I used Medianet on mine and while not supported, it worked for testing purposes. I'll try to check this this afternoon if I can get time on our one remaining 10.6.8 Mac.
