It has to be an external recorder if it's DNxHD. If it is native XDCAM EX
the media files will be .mp4...

The specific workflow will vary, but with either XDCAM EX or DNxHD I would
usually AMA link then Consolidate. They are natively supported codecs so
that is just a file copy and rewrap process.
