So I'm going to be receiving what I'm told are Red Epic-shot HDRx files. Apparently the camera writes two fully discreet frames for each frame, one 5 or so stops underexposed from the other frame so that both can be used in the color grade in order to create super high latitude HDR images.
But how do I deal with these things? Does anyone know if they have common file names with an eye toward the eventual conform? Is there anything the DIT needs to do before debayering? I only want to cut with one shot, so do I just transcode one of the shots, and assume there will be a way to reference the other frame in conform?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
David
