[Avid-L2] Re: More xw8400. now RAM

 

Hi Bouke,

It's been a while since I was in purely 32 bit land, but what I would run into were things like the inability to create a title at a certain point and long effects heavy sequences would have to be broken up to work on them. I think a lot of the issues can be attributed to RAM leaks. Also, switching back and forth between After Effects and Avid would cause really long delays waiting for memory to free up.

At any rate, we were effectively limited to 3Gigs of RAM in those days. If you haven't hit any issues in your workflows, then I wouldn't worry about it. But RAM is so cheap why not beef it up a bit?
