L-ers,
I'm running MC 6 - mostly so I can prep projects and then check my final
renders in a DaVinci Resolve workflow.
I've got a question concerning how Avid handles Reel Numbers...
Specifically - I'm finding that Resolve won't extract reel numbers from
clips that have had their reel numbers added via the 'Modify' dialog in
Avid. For my client these are the 'tapeless' clips originating from digital
cameras.
I've found that if I do a Consolidate to this media *then* Resolve is able
to extract reel numbers.
I'm guessing that the Consolidate process embeds the Reel Number metadata
into the file itself - whereas the 'Modify' command is more of a database
entry that doesn't travel with the clip.
Am I reading this correctly?
