Does anyone have any insight into Avids being on a managed osx Lion network
using home sync and managed users? One of our guys was 2 hours on the phone
with tech support and all his problems vanished as soon as I pulled the
network cable from the back of the Mac Pro. So what is permissible and what
is not? Our IT people insist that the Avids need to be on a managed OS with
managed users. I don't know enough about OSX Lion Server, but I do know
that a Mac with a normal OS install and normal users does not have the
issues I have seen in the managed environment. Most of the issues revolve
around permissions on local storage as well as the network over-riding
certain system preferences. If it is doing that to settings I can see, what
happens that I cannot see? I need to make sure we are running to Avid
specs, not to Apple specs.
Is there a support document that I can refer to?
