additional chart showing average revenue per theater, 3D vs. 2D. In

The guy makes a pretty good argument.
Also interesting is this notorious timeline of 3D movies Sony made
last year (or so) that they say, "shows the general trend of 3D
production." It's impressive work, but if one projects into the
future, the trend could be not so good for 3D fans and businesses:
