My preferred method is to:
1. Highlight the entire range that needs to be moved to an alternate track
2. Copy the range (Ctrl C on PC
3. Go to the pulldown menu on the Source screen and select "Clipboard Contents"
4. Then edit those "contents" into your alternate track using the exact same marks you used to copy it in the first place.
