One for the FCP-savvy. If I use Link to AMA in an Avid bin (MC5) and link to
DV PAL Quicktimes captured into FCP as 16:9 Anamorphic (with the anamorphic
flag correctly set on the clip), these clips show up in Media Composer as
4:3. Looking at the Image Aspect Ratio bin heading, it displays 'Unknown'.
If I then go to FCP and Media Manage (copy/consolidate) these clips to
another codec (I tried ProRes (LT) DV PAL Anamorphic) and AMA these clips
into MC, they display correctly. If I consolidate one of these AMA clips in
Media Composer, the aspect ratio is then corrected and the new clip displays
correctly so I imagine the metadata is buried in there somewhere. Anyone
come across this? I'm going to have to put an X resize on everything in MC,
I think, unless I Consolidate.
Another one - several of the QT clips I link to do not show 'V1', 'A1' etc.
in the Timeline track panel - they display 'ASlot' on each track.???
