[Avid-L2] MC5 + AE cs4 problem

I am having an installation problem between MC5 AfterEffectsEMP and AEcs4.
MC repeatedly gives me the error message "After Effects must be
installed.bla, bla.install failed." But, of course, AE is installed, and
had been working without a glitch with MC4.

Anyone else experienced this?
