I was quite clear that this was for P&C editing, however for some
reason REDCineX has been taken down from the RED site, to be replaced
by ROCKETCINE-X which you cannot run without a RR card. Not sure what
to make of that. This is all still Beta stuff, so they may have
removed it for legitimate reasons. The conspiracist amongst us may
suggest, that it had to many functions, ROCKETCINE-X lacks any editing
abilities its a event list play out or renderer.

Your comments about the camera is rubbish. Most RED owners buy a basic
lens and rent for their other requirements

I don't know that to be the case, do you?
You know what I think Oliver? until there is a RAW standard across the
board (and this is being driven by Adobe, Arri and Cannon) that is not
propriety, we are going to have this confusion, so in that sense you
are correct. We need a ratified standard that nobody owns, that allows
us to go back to the RAW files in the way that REDCode does.
In the meantime RED, and all the other Digital camera makers need to
be very afraid of what is happening in the DSLR market, that is where
the threat is coming from.
