They don't really do that anymore. They make the edit software. The hardware is up to you (other than storage). Most are using some form of Blackmagic Device.
I'm having trouble finding anything on the Avid site. What is the
current video i/o hardware for media composer on an M1 Mac?
We're using a little Blackmagic box, and the system is not stable. Time
to spend what we need to, to get a smoother experience.
