Re: [Avid-L2] Move just the media in a sequence to a new system

This process doesn't consolidate.

It doesn't' make 'NEW' clips.

All it does is delete the media you aren't using.

Not sure what you problem using this method is.

Make a duplicate of you media drive(s).

Take the stay home drive offline so your project is ONLY connected to the drive you will ship.

Put all your master clips into one bin and leave that open.  (Include any jpgs, TIFFs, sound effects, blah blah blah that you imported)

Close other bins.

Then open the bin that has your sequence in it that has all the clips you want to keep.

Select the sequence, right click, go to select media relatives.

All the associated masters should highlight in the other bin.

Reverse selection of the master clips.

Hit Delete and select Delete Media Files.

That should leave you with the media for you sequence.

Ship the drive.

This should be doable with the AAF - Copy complete files.  But there is a long standing issue where ProRes media stops this.

Any other tools that can get this done?

I want the complete clips to allow the two locations to continue work on the sequence with out having to resorting to relink dances.

Thanks,
Jef
