Re: [Avid-L2] Dell Precision 3660 Tower PCIe slot use

Dave,

I know your frustration with getting information from Dell.  I've spent close to 4 hours trying to track down the Thunderbolt 4 PCIe card that the Precision 3660 Tower spec sheet says exists.  I purchased this 3660T from the Dell Business Outlet but while researching I found the TB4 card even appears as an add-in board if you do a custom 3660T build.  However selecting that option throws a "restricted item" warning with no further information.

This experience has resulted in the submission for consideration of a new element to the periodic table.  It will follow right after "unobtanium" and "vaporwarium".   I've taken the liberty to name this new element "unknownium".   Whereas unobtanium represents a known element that simply can't be found, unknownium represents a nearly mythical element that exists only in vague textual references, similar to vaporwarium but with a lot less marketing hype and a lot more elusive.  No part number or product code is associated with unknownium.  No OEM department (sales, customer service, tech support) can verify its physical existence or even confirm knowledge of it.

For the time being at least I have an assortment of USB 3.2 Type-C Gen 2 (10 Gbps) and Gen 2x2 (20 Gbps) ports and external RAID storage compatible with that.

Cheers!
