Yes, the Apple/NVidia wrangling is definitely a concern.
Unfortunately my home machine happens to be an iMac with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M 4GB, so replacing the video card isn't an option. I'll have to keep it running until I'm ready to upgrade.
PC's certainly seem to have a big advantage at the moment, in terms of cost vs. performance. When last discussed on this list, I don't think there was a single person who could justify a new Mac purchase.
