I guess I'm just in a complaining mood… but the hell's wrong with MC and wave forms? I'm on Mac OS X, MC 2018..1, and whenever I work with no audio data (wave forms in the time line), all is fine. No crashes. But turn on wave forms, and it's nothing but crash crash crash.
I have plenty of horsepower under the hood and still, wave form redraws take forever, and the timeline basically sits like an idiot, unusable, until the audio tracks are finished redrawing and all icons are reinstated. Move the playhead, and wham! here we go again — redraw and wait. Try to get back to cutting too soon, before it's finished, and wham! there it goes again.
What is it about the wave forms that makes MC such a pain in the ass? And I say this as someone who practically edits by the wave forms.
