Re: [Avid-L2] Symphony option promo

The main network I had this requirement is Nat Geo and we had a conference call about it and they admitted that there requirement was not for the benefit of the broadcast viewer but for their stream repurposing.  They knew it was a less pleasant viewing experience but they didn't care.

I think my favorite quote was something like, "Broadcast can air anything, (meaning 2:3), but internet need progressive frames.

Nice to know where broadcast is on  the quality food chain.

Those networks are stupid. With 2:3 pulldown, you can reverse telecine to recover 24p and your streaming encodes will be many times better looking. I don't know how so-called professionals at these networks don't understand this.

I had started on a document like that years ago. Never completed it, though, and Avid never followed up on it neither.

I didn't know about this particular one, only knew about universal mastering - apparently works with the current box, but I have a Nitris DX - and about secondary cc.
Now I need to find documentation on the Symphony options...
