Re: [Avid-L2] Remote Desktop Editing With Media Composer

I have been working with HP Remote Graphics software via routed LAN and VPN. Needs a little bit more network bandwidth, so if you are maxing out bandwidth on the remote edit system, you will have connectivity drops & freezes. If you have enough bandwidth (say 15-20% of a 1Gb for high quality video/audio/framerate, or a 10Gb link) you will have a good time. It is a free download if you register, though last i looked, the OSX client has not shipped.

Microsoft remote deskop & avid dongles do not get along, since version 7.0.

Subject: [Avid-L2] Remote Desktop Editing With Media Composer

Over the years, I have often edited on my Media Composer desktop system remotely from another computer using a variety of other applications like iChat, Skype, Teamviewer, HipChat etc.
All of them seem to have their quirks in getting the best screen sharing picture and good sound to transfer to my remote computer.

Have other people had great success with a particular solution for screen sharing with audio?

Thanks,

Justin
