Being ridiculously compulsive I have bootable USB drives of every OS X back to Mt. Lion. I'm happy to share any vers. Since they're free downloads I assume it's ok to share. One of my edit boxes is also a 2008 Mac Pro & Yosemite is the last OS that did not choke the responsiveness. Give me a shout offline if I can be of help
