Initially we were talking about a used Isis, not sure which model but some 7000 unit. When I clicked on the performance guide for isis 7500 the document seemed to be for the 7000 according to the pages I looked at. Now we are buying a new Nexus instead running with MacPro 12 core upgraded Mac Towers. I'm not sure what the towers were before the upgrade to 12 core 3.33GH but I would guess mid 2010 units. So it sounds like we will be okay and that we should be running OS 10.10.
We were also told the new Nexus, is that the EX?, that just came out last week is only approved for Avid 8.6. Is that really true. It sounds like we are jumping on a brand new storage system that differs from the Nexus 1000 as far as I know and now it requires the new Avid version that just came out as well. I trust the storage but don't really like to be forced into 8.6 before it's had any real shake down by the users. could we not run 8.5.3 or earlier. I find it hard to believe Avid would come up with new storage solutions that drop the old versions compatibility. I realize it's a tough dance with varying OS incompatibilities etc... So where can I find the official document that tells me exactly what can work with the brand new Nexus units and do they have different requirements than the Nexus 1000 did? I will google but if you can cut me to the chase that would be appreciated. I'm going in for a root canal now and not sure how googlable I will be after the procedure so any guidance to keep it simple will help when I can't feel my face. ;-)

When using two Ethernet connection with ISIS/NEXIS we call this Avid Adaptive Load Balancing. It isn't technically bonding as each NIC has it's own IP address. But it does improve performance and reliability.
Are you using an ISIS|7500 or NEXIS? The performance characteristics are very different between the two and no one should conflate the two.
To ensure there won't be any issues we always add an additional stream for our multicam calculations.
So for a 6 x Multicam we would do the calculations for 7 Streams of DNx145; for the Video alone this is 126MB/s. This should fit into a 2x1GigE connection without issue but there are a lot of details that I'd need to know to say for sure.
Please feel free to contact me off list or reply here.
