I think this probably boils down to the kind of work one is doing.
Resolve is clearly an evolving platform, in terms of its NLE module.
I'm guessing closer parity with established NLEs will likely occur over the next couple releases.
However, the tool set today is more than enough for many types of projects and workflows.
And, as pointed out, Resolve does many things that Media Composer can't do -- and probably will never do ...
... not the least of which is being a modern and competent color corrector.
