This is just a part of how screwed up the Avid / App Man experience is. If you are on the subscription model, you get 2.5. If you are on the support plan, meaning you already owned MC and pay the yearly fee, you get 2.0.
Both are pushed at you via App Man so the natural assumption is to take 2.5 which I did on all my systems, and then had the ferret out the truth, uninstall, and reinstall 2.0. :-(
My suggestion would be that App Man should only show you the version you are entitled to, but that would take some concern about the user experience which is sorely lacking in this area.

My only question on new blue is what the deal is with 2.5, least the latest version of app manager labels them right rather than 2.0 listings. But any time i download it and install it asks for serial numbers i don't have. This is the same with annual subscription and permanent.
