Thanks Marianna ... Now we know!

Sadly in this modern pc tv universe there is more than just avid on a workstation so we have to balance software that demands the latest with the needs of very slowly tested software like avid.

It's a challenge I see every place I work.

Having said that the os is always the oldest piece of software on any of my workstations - still got a few snow leopard - as it makes no sense to have an operating system newer than a core application.

I just want you to know that OS X 10.11.4 ( El Cap ) is not approved for use with Media Composer 8.5.x at this time. We are in the process of running it thru its paces at corporate and expect to approve in one of the next few releases. I updated the El Cap Knowledge Base article for both MC 8.5.x and PT 12.3 and indicated not approved at this time..... just a heads up! I posted to the community.avid.com forums, and the Avid Editors of Facebook. We also tweeted this info.
