All kidding aside what procedures does NBC and the Today show use for long term archiving of material?  If you need to pull video from a Today show piece from a year or more ago where do you go and how is that media accessible?  Back in the tape day it would be a trip to the ABC vault for me but I never worked in the vault so I don't know how long things were kept around.  What's the day in day out archive scheme at a major network like?

Okay I can't help myself here.  I hope NBC realizes how many bits they are putting out of work with their stingy data ways.  Downtown LA is filled with millions of homeless bits living in cardboard drive boxes.  I hope NBC is happy.
